Eat and Drink

Harleston has a variety of places to eat, drink, or pick up a snack.  Whatever you’re looking for, from a full sit down meal, a light bite at lunchtime, a lovely coffee, or a simple take away to eat at your leisure, there will be something for you.

 

Most of the places are in the town centre.  For those that are outside of the town centre, we’ve included walking and driving times from the market square.

Harleston and its surrounding district are a fantastic base for exploring the beautiful Waveney Valley, dotted with picturesque and interesting villages and towns, and also offer easy access to Norwich and the coast.

From hotels to campsites, there is a wide range of property options available to please all tastes.

Local traders have always been an important part of Harleston’s rich community life. Wednesday is still market day as it has been since 1259.

Harleston is a vibrant, bustling market town with an excellent array of independent speciality shops, mostly locally owned and run by people who are passionate about their products and service.

Harleston is an ideal centre from which to explore the beautiful Waveney Valley, an area of great beauty and tranquillity and an unspoilt haven for wildlife. There is plenty here to inspire artists, photographers, walkers and cyclists.

 

Being centrally located, all these attractions are either in the immediate vicinity or within a 45-minute drive from the town centre.
